The UMA Team Signed The MoU And Community Service In Deli Tua Village And Namo Mbelin Village, Kec. Namorambe

In supporting the Tridarma of Higher Education and Community Service Performance, LP2M Medan Area University formed 8 Service Teams consisting of 24 people to carry out Community Service and an MoU with Deli Tua Village and Namo Mbelin Village, Kec. Namorambe, Kab. Deli Serdang.

Saturday, 17 October 2020, LP2M together with the Vice-Chancellor IV for Cooperation, Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer, MP, and the UMA Community Service team visited Deli Tua village to carry out community service activities. This service activity is of course by implementing health protocols in accordance with Government standards.

Head of LP2M UMA, Dr. Ir. Sumihar Hutapea, MS conveyed the intention of the arrival of the UMA Community Service team to solve problems and empower communities in the village, both from marketing problems, problems in cultivation and agriculture, and infrastructure.

The arrival of the UMA service team was well responded to by the Head of Deli Tua Village, Tongat Ginting, S.Pd, who was represented by the Village Head. He hopes that this service activity can take place continuously. This village has an Oyster Mushroom Cultivation business, UP2K Sejahtera Bersama. The team that carried out the service in the village of Deli Tua, Kec. Namorambe consists of 2 teams.

LP2M and the team also paid a visit to Namo Mbelin Village which consists of 6 Community Service Teams. This visit was welcomed by the Head of Namo Mbelin Village, Tenang Sembiring. This activity was also attended by a number of communities and PKK mothers.

Vice-Rector IV for Cooperation, Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer MP said that the arrival of the Medan Area University team was to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is Community Service and also the implementation of the MoU with Namo Mbelin Village. He also conveyed what problems and the potentials of village natural resources that could be developed. Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer, MP also responded to one of the problems that occurred in Namo Mbelin Village, namely Papaya Disease, Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV). Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) is the cause of ringspot disease and in severe attacks, the brown thickened and hardened spots and fruit are not good to eat. The Head of LP2M also conveyed the details of the Community Service Team from the University of Medan Area, as well as the expertise and problems that would be sought for solutions.

Then the event continued with the handover of the MoU by the Deputy Chancellor IV for Cooperation, Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer, MP with the Head of Namo Mbelin Village, Tenang Sembiring, and the giving of souvenirs from Medan Area University and ended with a group photo and discussion session by the Community Service Team with the people of Namo Mbelin Village.
